We are often asked if we have any job
openings. Others who find us on the Internet ask if they can submit a
resume for consideration.
We are always interested in knowing
about talented and experienced people who want to become a member of the
Sally team, however, our job openings are rather infrequent. When
openings occur we decide rather quickly, often drawing on recommendations
from our associates within this industry. Watch this page for announcements.

Our
staff represents many disciplines.
Within our production and design departments, we have figures and show
designers, sculptors, mold makers, finish artists, costumers, electronics
technicians, pneumatics technicians, mechanical fabricators,
synchronization programmers, carpenters, scenic artists and fabricators,
display and exhibit designers . . . just to name the main job
classifications.

We
are often asked for advice in planning a career in animatronics. This is a
difficult question to answer because the field of animatronics is not just
one discipline.
Animatronics is first and foremost
entertainment. And, whether your talents lean toward the artistic or the
electronic, no one course of study will qualify you as an animatronics
specialist.
Animatronics is a blend of technology,
mechanics and art to create an experience that can entertain or educate or
market, or sell, or do all four at the same time.
We know of no single course of study that
teaches animatronics per se because there is no single discipline that
defines animatronics. It is a craft that depends on the skills and talents
of designers, artists and technicians who have a creative flair and feel
for what makes people laugh and cry. . .respond and react.
If you are trying to decide what courses
to take or what books to read . . . our advice is to follow your heart!

We won't
tell you.
Our methods, techniques and systems are
proprietary and we guard them quite closely. However, you can look over
our shoulder if you would like and see what goes on in our
production facilities.
If you want to know more about
animatronics and how they have traditionally been designed and
constructed, you can find several locations on the Internet with helpful
advice.
